i agree with xphilopiax you should definately check the turn there for pot control on the turn in the tournament hand because you can only beat a flush draw and your hand has some showdown value by you hitting the Q on the river

I think you played your hands very well.
On the first hand, though, I would have check on the river right behind him/her because of the way it played out, the only hand I would put them on is a diamond flush draw. If they had checked raised the river, it would’ve been a difficult call. I think they had mid pockets, though.
